More detailed information about the snowpack: 

Surface hoar widespread on all aspects in open areas below 7,600'. Grain size 5mm to 2cm with isolated areas of 4cm feathers. Surface hoar absent in areas of timber without large openings and in all areas above 7,600'. Surface hoar persisting in the early afternoon hours on N-NE-E aspects between 7,000 and 7,600'. Surface hoar persisting on all aspects below 7,000' due to air temp inversion.
