More detailed information about the snowpack: 

Wet snow at surface on full shade northerly aspects capable of producing roller balls up to 1 foot in diameter. This will eventually form a new crust in the snowpack. Temperature gradient across the layer interface of frozen rain affected basal layer and recent new snow layer above has the potential to produce faceting and is something to watch.
