Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Snowpit dug adjacent to snowpit from March 6 to compare stability changes over time. ECT results today were inconsistent with mostly ECTN results. One ECTP - 27 Q2 resulted on the March 6 facet layer located at the base of the storm snow, immediately on top of the rain crust. Overall, a significant improvement in snowpack stability was observed in this area since last here March 6. Isolated ECTP result and consistent PST <50% results on facets both above and below the crust indicate that difficult to trigger persistent slab avalanches remain possible in this area, though fairly unlikely.

Wet snow observed on all aspects including sun exposed and partial shade north aspects. Only the most heavily shaded north aspects had not experienced any melt phase by 1pm.

Photo: Large skier triggered roller balls such as this one on a NE aspect at 7,200' were common in the area.
