More detailed information about the snowpack:

Carson Range didn't see much in the way of snow accumulation out of the last storm but did receive the winds.  A variety of wind crusts from firm windboard, areas scoured down to old firm rain crust, and punchy grabby wind textured snow all present on snow surface.  Still some nice unconsolidated snow in very protected areas, the wind affected more terrain than normal and much lower into protected areas and trees.  Large settlement cones around trees.  Cornice drops had no results on slopes below and entrained very little additional snow.

Photo#1:  Showing wind texture on snow surface down off of ridge on leeward side.

Photo#2:  Most cornices were wind hardened but some in more protected areas could be kicked off, no propagation on slopes below and very little additional snow entrainment on slope.
