Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Strong SW winds were keeping it cool with little softening on the snow surface above 9000'. Very little available snow to be moved by the strong winds.  The upper snowpack is still faceting on shaded aspects which is providing some good riding conditions in nice unconsolidated snow.  Punchy snow on most of the solar aspects below 9000' with the marginal freeze last night.

Photo#1: Surface facets in protected shaded aspects providing good unconsolidated snow.

Photo#2:  Test pit dug at 10k', NW aspect.  HS=95cm.  Well consolidated snowpack with surface facets on top and a well developed depth hoar layer on the ground below an ice layer.  No stability test results from CT's.
