More detailed information about the snowpack: 

Wide variety of snow conditions encountered today. Cold, dry snow with slight wind effect on N, NE aspects above 9,000ft. Unfortunately, unsettled weather didn't allow us to explore these aspects above Winnemucca Lake as planned. Cloud cover and moderate to strong winds prevented exposed E, SE aspects from softening. Sheltered E, SE aspects that hadn't undergone a solid freeze cycle were soft, with a breakable crust surface. No signs of instability. Very little, and very isolated wind transport.

Winter weather on Round Top. Cloud cover and winds continued to increase throughout the morning. I was told later that conditions cleared in the afternoon.

 

Just across the highway, Stevens Peak, Red Lake Peak, Meiss Ridge and Little Round Top appeared to be undergoing spring metamorphism.
