More detailed information about the snowpack: 

 Toured N and NE facing terrain between 6400 and 8000 feet this afternoon.  Open areas below treeline were still holding smooth uncrusted powder, as were treed areas, though they were somewhat pocked due to snow clumps falling from branches.  Small wind pillows were noted in isolated areas and these pillows exibited some slab like behaior.  Ski cuts across steep wind deposits produced sliding blocks about 8-10" thick.  Failure seemed to occur within recently deposited snow.
