Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack: 

The snowpack in this area is about 10-18 inches deep on the sheltered northerly aspects above 7500 ft. This snow barely covers some of the smaller rocks and sticks. Most of the obstacles in this area remain exposed as they do in most other places. This snowpack consists of about 10 inches of soft unconsolidated snow left over from the recent storm sitting on top of older sugary snow. The old melt freeze crust that existed under the new snow has changed into weak facetted snow in most places in this area.

The strong E-NE winds had scoured much of the snow away from the N-NE aspects above treeline that were visible form the top of Maggies.

On the aspects that do not have a northerly component snowcover remains either patchy or nonexistent.
