Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Surface wet snow amounts ranged from 4 to 8 cm on the E-SE-S aspects traveled between 7,400' and 9,750' from 10 am and noon. Any areas where the overall snowpack was greater than 30cm deep remained ski and boot supportable at mid day. Areas of less than 30 cm HS, especially around exposed rocks and vegetation were becoming unsupportable at that time. Snowpit observations collected at the top of the snowfield on the SE side of the summit revealed evidence of previous free water percolation through full height of the snowpack.

Surface snow on NE aspects traveled was noted as established melt-freeze in open areas and still transitional in heavily shaded areas.

No evidence of loose wet instability was observed on surrounding peaks from the previous 24 hours.
