Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Storm snow amounts in this area are around 30 to 35 cm measured with current settlement. Settlement cracks observed in this area around trees up to 4 cm (2 inches). Recent NE winds have scoured near treeline and above treeline areas with deposits up to 1 foot deep observed in lee areas on S-SE aspects. Skier triggered cracking was minimal when crossing ridgetop wind slabs. Significant amounts of snow remain available for future wind transport on all aspects near and above treeline. Snowpit data collected in a wind protected area at noted lat/long (N aspect, 9,200', open below treeline terrain) revealed no indications of instability either lingering within the recent storm snow or along the layer interface of buried near surface facets at the base of the storm snow.
