More detailed information about the avalanche:

Visible crown of natural avalanche that likely occurred on Dec 24 under active storm wind loading conditions. Photos taken from afar. The crown that was easily visible to the naked eye is very difficult is see in the photo. Crown visible below small cornice formation along N ridge. Active wind loading today made conditions unsafe to cross from the E ridge of the peak to the N ridge were the crown was located. All info as to likely size and avalanche type is estimated and unverified by crown profile data.

Estimated size: Crown depth = 1 meter, Crown width 30 meters. Down slope run unknown.

Avalanche type: Most likely a wind slab failing at or above the 12/24 rain crust.
