Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Buried surface hoar was still present in the pit porfile. The Jan. 5th layer was about 100cm from the surface and was still reactive producing Q1 shears. Above that the Jan. 9th was 80 cm down from the surface and was not as reactive giving resistent planar results. This layer of surface hoar was trending towards rounding. The Jan. 13th layer was 40cm from the surface and was also reactive still, producing a Q1 shear. None of these layers reacted during the ECT Test.

There was no signs of natural avalanches. The group had no ski cut results.

Picture 1: On the ascent we observed widespread graupel on the surface at 7000' in continued up to 9000' where it changed to surface hoar.

Picture 2:  .3 mm sized surface hoar growing at 9000'
