More detailed information about the snowpack: 

Cold wintery morning on Carson Pass. Around a foot of fresh snow, although small streams along the skin track were still flowing with open water at about 8700 feet. Below the cold fresh snow was a signficant layer of wet snow. Soft powder snow was showing visual signs of wind and small cornices had already formed.
