Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

We toured the lower east aspect of Andesite Peak and found 7 to 11 cm of new snow on top of a 2cm supportable rain crust.   Winds were light from the SW.  There was a good bond between the new snow and rain crust.   At our pit location on a shaded East aspect the surface snow temp was -13.5 degrees C and a T-20 of 0 degrees C which kept the new snow cold and winter like.  We had mixed results from compression tests.  4 x CTN and 4 x CTM 30cm down.   On a southerly aspect around 3pm there was a 1cm breakable sun crust with frozen skier triggered roller balls.
