Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Cold unconsolidated surface snow continues to exist in open below treeline terrain on shaded aspects.  Trees were dripping water on most aspects at higher elevations causing variable snow conditions in densely treed areas.  Aspects that were receiving any sun had wet and sticky surface snow, especially noticeable above the inversion layer where warmer air existed.  The 1/12 rain crust was found at 6700'.  2 CT's and 1 ECT showed no weakness either on top or bottom of crust.  The crust was not found at another location on the ascent at 7200' on a NW aspect.   No signs of any instabilities were observed throughout the day.  Open water, including large creek crossings and sink holes exist throughout the drainage.
