More detailed information about the snowpack:

New snow amounts of 30 to 40 cm (12 to 16 inches) were observed in this area today. No signs of storm slab instability observed while breaking trail. Ski cuts in below treeline terrain at 8,700' on a N aspect 36 degree slope produced no signs of storm slab instability. Minor cracking in wind affected areas but no signs of easy propagation. Kicking on cornice features above wind loaded test slopes produced no wind slab failure. Ongoing wind transport was observed with SW wind gusts. Transport was noted to increase during the early afternoon hours. No signs of recent slab avalanche activity seen on surrounding peaks from the Fireplug area (including Pint Glass avy path) or seen from Tahoe Basin side of the Mount Rose Hwy. A few small recent natural dry loose and older debris piles were seen on the S side of Mt. Rose proper (Sand Chutes area).
