More detailed information about the snowpack:

New snow amounts of 4 to 6 inches existed in the Yuba Pass and Lincoln Ridge area this morning. Rapid warming conditions became evident by 9:45 am with sunny conditions and clouds covering 25% of the sky. Snow surface wetting and increased cohesion of storm snow from last night was evident in sun exposed areas. Shaded areas remained unaffected by melt during the morning hours.

Along the top of Lincoln Ridge, knocking off the smaller cornice features produced no results on top of recently wind loaded NE aspects. Solar aspects were a different story with ski cuts on adjacent SE aspect test slopes producing problematic wet snow results at 10:50 am. Most signs of instability pointed towards loose wet avalanches. Some signs existed that pointed to wind/storm slabs becoming unstable with surface wetting and deformation from rapid warming.
