Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Strong 35-45 mph SW winds on ridge lines moving snow on to leeward side of ridges.  Compression tests on these wind slabs were showing unstable results.  Several CT's had sudden collapse on isolation. Pencil hard slab releasing 25cm down on 8 cm of 4 finger hard facet.  Several more CT's and hand pits in more protected areas produced easy to moderate shears on this same layer. Lower down, on a more solar aspect, small D1 releasing on top of Thursday's melt freeze crust. 8700' east facing, crown up to 12".
