More detailed information about the snowpack: 

Wind transport was continuing throughout the day with moderate to strong W winds.  Evidence of previous wind loading and scouring in all wind exposed areas.  Wind slabs were thick and up to 2-3' deep in the traditional wind loaded locations.  A cornice failure and/or wind slab avalanche occurred early in the storm and was almost completely covered by continuing snow-see photo.  Several test slopes and cornice drops showed minor shooting cracks but wind slabs were mainly non reactive.  At a test pit at 9300' on a N aspect, (N39.312909 W-119.911973) a ECTP-29 was noted into the low density weak old snow, about 2' deep. 

Intermittent light snow occurred throughout the day.
