During a Column Test, we had a clean shear surface 30 cm deep (CT24Q2). We suapect this is the top of last weekend's storm. During the Extended Column Test there was no result (ECTNX) and therefore no propogation. We were also looking for the persistent weak layer which has been a recent problem. We encountered sugary faceted snow around 100 cm from the ground (75 cm from the surface). While our tests did not cause a failure on this surface, we were able to easily pull the snow column off this layer. As the snowpack consolidates and gains moisture and weight this layer could become a more significant problem.
