Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack: 

Warm day with dead-calm on the Sierra Crest.  We found one planer break 88 cm below surface on N facing slope; could not duplicate fracture.  Cold snows in the shade are slowly warming. Released some small loose wet avxs on our descent on steep sun-exposed terrain.  This morning's snow surface was mostly supportable crusts, some SH in low meadow, quite warm by 0900.  No other signs of instability observed.
