Observations from The Nipple

Pic 1: Exposed the crust in two locations, and probed in several others, to look for weak layer near it. Generally E aspects just under 9000ft - E and NE above this becomes too consequential in this area. Crust was Knife hard and 1cm of Melt Forms above it were Pencil and in their Dry, frozen state, with no associated weak layer observed. Melt Forms below the crust remained Moist. HS of ~3m at 8800ft.

Pic 2: Fine line between wet and dry surface snow today, with drainage runnels appearing on sunny slopes, and with just a slight change in aspect, cold snow and near surface faceting.

No signs of lingering storm or wind instabilities, using numerous cuts of test slopes, mitt pits, and getting off machines to examine trenches. Warm, calm day with increasing cloud cover in the afternoon.
