Weak snow surface refreeze and loose wet instability on Andesite Peak.

Last night's snow surface refreeze was weaker than expected in this area. Most open areas had experienced a weak snow surface refreeze of the top 3 inches of the snowpack. Little to no refreeze was noted under dense forest canopy. By 9 am this 3 inch surface crust was fully melted on open E and NE aspects at 8,000'. Surface wet snow over a few remaining inches of colder, residual April 15-16 storm snow allowed for widespread skier triggered roller balls on slopes around 35 degrees and steeper. Video of roller balls was taken on an above treeline E aspect test slope at 9:30 am.
