Description of Snow, Weather, and Avalanche Conditions:

We dug a pit in a north facing wind loaded area SE of Tamarack proper. The snowpit was 85 cm and had about 70 cm of well bonded facets. There was a hard wind slab on the top of the snowpack about 10 cm in thickness. The wind slab failed on CT27 and ECT13, sudden planar. The wind slab was very localized but if found in avalanche terrain could be a bit spooky.
