Wind slab avalanche on Castle Peak

An experienced team was touring in the Castle zone today and found a variety of instabilites realating to the recent NE wind. Active wind loading was observed on the south side of the peak, the 30-40mph winds were gusty and variable on the ridge.  Numerous shooting cracks we observed both in and outside of treed areas, wherever there was wind loading happening. The team chose to ski a low angle run on the south side of the ridge and observed a wind slab avalanche on a steeper, cross loaded feature to their left. There is some uncertainty as to the trigger- it is possible that it was remote triggered by the group, and it is also possible that the slide had just naturally realeased. The terrain was such that it was not easily visibly from above. 

Avalanche was approx 100' wide at the crown, and had a max crown height of 18". The aspect of the feature was SW, ideally situated to catch the NE wind today.
