Observations from Trimmer Peak

Cold morning with light northeast winds throughout the day.  Minor wind scouring observed in the higher elevation wind exposed locations.  Below 7500', 2 to 4'' of snow existed on top of a firm and supportable rain crust.  Above 7500', more snow existed and the rain crust was semi supportable.  Above 7800' 1' of unconsolidated snow existed above the rain crust and snow depths increased with elevation.  Rain crust was felt up to around 8400-8500'.  1-2'' sun crusts were forming on the south side of the ridge with cold snow underneath.  Plenty of snow exists for the NE wind event forecasted for tonight and into Tuesday.  No signs of instability observed on the shaded aspects that were traveled on today.
