Large avalanche crown and debris on Powder House East Bowl

Breaking tracks into the East Bowl of Powder House in early afternoon, no other backcountry travelers appear to have traveled this direction since the most recent storm. The leader chose a gladed line away from the rock bands, and communicated via radio that along the rock bands underneath the rest of the party, at least one approximately 2' crown existed. Avalanche debris appeared fresh (i.e. within the last 24 hours). Avalanche size D1-D2.

The rest of the party (3) descended without incident.

Snow conditions highly variable in this area. Slough slides, tree and rock wells, and sun crust abounded.
