Observations from Powderhouse

Short sleeve skinning conditions on Luther Pass today. Snow was moist and heavy on solar aspects. Totally shaded aspects still held dry snow but these aspects are shrinking as the sun reaches more areas. Views from the summit looking west revealed fewer crowns from the recent avalanche cycle than anticipated. There is one crown in the photo on a small peak in the center of the image where the entire north face appeasr to have slid.
