Warm Temps and Wet Snow on Rubicon Peak

Cloudy overnight with above freezing air temperatures made for wet surface snow from the trailhead up to the peak top on all aspects.  Boot pen of ankle to shin deep was observed at the trailhead with conditions deteriorating throughout the day with warming temperatures and very light rain.  What was potentially 6'' of soft unconsolidated surface snow yesterday turned into heavy, slow, and sticky snow conditions today.  Very light rain fell occasionally throughout the morning.  Minimum roller ball activity was observed in steeper terrain.
