Partial Refreeze on Jakes Peak

Mostly cloudy skies with moderate to strong SW winds towards the top of the peak.  With warmer overnight temperatures and increased cloud cover, no snow surface refreeze was found below 7600' with a partial refreeze of the snow surface above 8000'.  A mix of very light rain at lower elevations with very light snow above 8000' through the morning with no accumulation.  Mostly ski supportable conditions were observed above 8000' with deteriorating punchy snow below this level.  Below 7600' by 11:30am, the snowpack lost all supportability with skipen up to 1' deep.
