New Cold Snow and Wind Scouring on Incline Lake Peak

2 to 4'' of new low density snow overnight in the Incline Lake Peak area.  This new snow fell on top of soft snow on northerly aspects and a variety of firmer snow/crusts on E-SE aspects.  Previous wind scouring occurred overnight with increased W winds and potentially NE winds.  Many areas above treeline were scoured down to firmer snow surfaces or had a wind crust on the surface.  New cornice formation was found on many ridgelines from the varying wind directions overnight.  These cornices were reactive on small test slopes, but did not show any potential for propagation on the slopes below.  Good snow surface conditions existed below treeline on northerly aspects.  Winds were light through the day with mostly sunny conditions.
