Observation
Description of Snow, Weather, and Avalanche Conditions:

Our group toured around the Old ASI and Mayflower ridge today to find variable conditions. We witnessed wind transport from the trailhead and flagging at most elevations along the ridgelines. East aspects were being stripped of their snow and loading the West aspects. As we gained elevation, pockets of smooth snow were found in proctected areas, but mainly variable surface conditions were more prevalent. Multiple pockets of fresh windslabs exsisted on the lee side of ridgelines and crossloaded features. These windslabs were touchy and produced shooting cracks in lower angled terrain, while steeper test slopes released size 1 windslabs 8-10" thick.
