Wind Transport near Scott Peak

Intense snow transport was observed over the higher peaks in this area during the morning hours.  SW winds did seem to decrease by mid day, but still visible snow transport was occurring over the higher peaks and ridges.  In below treeline terrain, wind transport was also happening with the surface snow being affected.  In denser treed areas, soft unconsolidated snow still existed.  Informal observations and snowpack tests on northerly aspects showed no signs of unstable snow with limited snowpack test results with storm snow right side up.  Snowpack tests were also done on a SE aspect at 6750' on an open but treed slope.  In this area, there was not a well defined sun crust below the recent storm snow.  A ECTX did not show any results at this location.  Temperatures warmed into the mid day, but low elevation northerly aspects did not seem to be changed.
