Highway Patrol Chutes

Toured the Highway Patrol Chutes above 89 this morning.  We could feel a fairly thin sun crust below the most recent on south and west aspects. In the chutes we could not see any visible signs of wind transport in the most recent snow, just fluffy new snow. We did kick at one wind lip that formed in the previous storm cycle, which was now under 6 inches of new snow, and did not observe any cracking or failures. We saw impressively large, and intact, stellars on the new snow surface throughout the tour often exceeding 6 mm in size.
