Snow pit and windloading on Ralston Peak

We toured on Ralston Peak today. While approaching from the Eastern ridge we encountered a wind slab. ECTP10 4 inches down (Photo 1). We repeated this test 100 feet away in a slightly less wind exposed area with an ECTN8 result at the same layer. Near the summit we encountered some wind scoured ice, so we changed plans and skied the unconsolidated snow on the N facing slope between Ralston and Talking Mountain. On the ascent of one of these laps skinning above a tree well cause a small (7 inches deep) wind slab failure (Photo 2). This occurred 400 feet below the ridgeline. Later in the day the wind picked up and we could see snow plumes blowing off the Agassiz and Jacks peak. Our skin track was mostly refilled with blowing snow after 90 minutes (Photo 3).
