Small Intentionally Triggered Wind Slab, Castle Peak NW

Crossing below ridge on NW face of Castle, we stayed primaily on wind scoured snow. Crossing onto the slope where the avalanche was observed, I noted a small wind slab that had formed from a combination of snow blowing over the ridge and crossloading. The slope above the rollover was in the mid through high 20 degree area, as was the slope below. Higher up on the slope, a cornice fall had triggered a deeper slide (3' deep, 30' wide, 20' or so of run), apparently earlier in the day as it had not yet filled in. Crossing onto the slope, once on the wind slab, above the convexity, and near it's interface with wind scouring, a quick jump set off a small avalache. Once the surrounding area was observed again and assessed as safe to proceed across, we crossed the newly exposed bed surface to a safer area on the far side and took this observations.
