Storm snow settlement and unreactive wind features on Blackwood Ridge.

Touring on Blackwood Ridge we found right side up storm snow. Settlement cracks were prominent around trees, showing up to 10 inches of settlement in some spots. We saw no signs of lingering storm slabs or surface instabilities below treeline. As we approached near treeline terrain we began to see signs of previous wind transport.  Surface wind slabs up to one foot thick were unreactive to skier weight around wind pillow and micro cornice features on a previously wind loaded E aspect. Below freezing air temperatures were experienced throughout the morning, but surface faceting was not prominent.
