shooting cracks on brockway summit

We toured near Brockway Summit this afternoon, below tree line we kicking at a few test slopes and could not get any to break. As we neared our high point, still below tree line but more exposed to the wind (see map location), we started to see frequent shooting cracks up to 6 feet in length. The slab was very soft so it was difficult to be certain exactly where it was breaking, but it appeared to be 2/3rds the way down in the most recent snow. We could also feel a slight density change at this point with the bottom 3rd being softer than the upper 2/3rds of the new snow.  We skied several slopes in this area and only saw shooting cracks in this one, more exposed, location.
