Observation from Powderhouse

Mostly cloudy with occassional pockets of blue sky on Powderhouse today. No instabilities were observed below tree line. Just above treeline cracks shot out in front of skis near a cornice and on a small test slope that had been undercut. Similar but slightly mellower terrain nearby did not show crack propagation. Several inches of new snow acculmulations present near Grass Lake at roughly 7900 feet, with about 6-8 inches of new snow closer to the summit.
