Wet and Unsupportable on Relay Peak

Warm sunny weather had already almost melted through last night's refreeze on sunny slopes above 8500 ft. by 9 am this morning. As we ascended Relay Peak, we found deep wet unsupportable snow on E-SE aspects at 9:30 am. The S aspects quickly followed suit and by 10 am, skis would sink 6+ inches into wet snow on these aspects up to at least 9800 ft. On the N side of the ridge, we found firm uneven surfaces with some softer wet snow on NE aspects at that time. We chose to descend the SW aspects where soft corn snow existed on top of a still ski supportable melt-freeze crust down to about 9000 ft. Below that these slopes also became unsupportable. During our descent, we did move over to S and SE aspects for a few turns. On each turn on these aspects, we would push piles of wet snow downslope a few feet indicating that enough loose wet snow existed for loose wet avalanches to occur. We did not venture onto any steeper slopes where we could have triggered loose wet avalanches.
