Corn on southerly aspects, variable conditions on other aspects on Rose Knob

We toured on Rose Knob today beggining around 10am. On our skin up, southerly aspects in the sun had begun to soften, however shaded areas were still quite firm and could be tricky to skin across. Northerly aspects had a variety of conditions with unconsolidated snow in some areas and a crust with a ~3" layer of colder unconsolidated snow below in other areas. On our descent at around 11:30 we found enjoyable corn conditions on southerly aspects at higher elevations. Lower down on easterly and northeasterly unshaded aspects we found dense unconsolidated snow. Southerly shaded areas, were still quite firm, though more edgeable than on our ascent. No signs of wet-loose instability were noted on our descent.
