Incline Peak

We toured the normal route up Incline Peak and skied two laps on the south face.  We were out from approx 10a-1p.

There did not seem to have been a hard freeze last night.  Most exposed snow surfaces on S/SE/SW facing areas at lower elevations were frozen, but snow kept warm at the bases of trees was soft and slushy on the same slopes.  Snow in the shade on the N/NE aspects on the ascent still held soft wintery snow.

South facing snow off the summit was already quite soft at 11a. Conditions improved as we descended with a stronger base and more of a meld freeze pattern to the snow. By noon the snow off the top was getting wet but still fast and although borderline too soft there was still a supportable crust underneath. 

We did not see any loose slides or roller ball activity before about 1p, but I would not be surprised if there was some later in the afternoon.
