Structure Improving on Monument Peak

Did a full profile in the upper part of the Monument Creek Drainage, outside the boundary of Heavenly Ski Area. Structure appears to be improving and we only found one crust, with facets around it. Tests found no indications of instability, and the warm temps of the last few days appear to be consolidating the snowpack somewhat. Surface conditions changed significantly yesterday, softening quite a bit thanks to the cloud cover and warm temps. With the weak refreeze last night, the thin melt-freeze crust we found on top was already softening and becoming wet by the time we left the slope, and skiing was quite good.
