Warm, windy, and wet above Meyers

Skinned up a high point above Meyers. Poor snow coverage at 6500 feet was evident and a route challenge until snow depth increased above 7000. Temperatures were well above freezing and the snow started out soft and then got softer once a light rain began to fall. The snow above 7000 feet had been cold and wintry but was quickly changing due to the warm temps and rain. Roller balls were easy to inititiate while skinning and small loose wet slides were easy to trigger on steeper slopes while descending. Turning in the heavy mank was challenging.

Photo 2: A light rain fell during the late morning up to 9000. Trees were free of snow.
