Windy, rapid loading on Tamarack

Went for a short tour on the south side of Tamarack late this afternoon to see how the storm was moving in; traveled through some open areas, but mostly treed. Limited snowfall accumulation in this area (1-2 inches), although some locations with localized drifting had more (5 inches). Some locations had been (and were actively being) scoured down to the icy pre-storm surface. Some obstacles (i.e. tree stumps, rocks, exposed creek) were still exposed. Windy with limited visibility; gusts ~45+ mph, mostly out of the W/SW, although it seemed to be swirling, with some gusts coming directly out of the east. Snow plastered mostly on the west sides of trees. Snowfall was moderate to heavy at times; on the way back to the car, our skin track had been mostly/completely refilled within 20 minutes. Storm intensity was definitely increasing when we left. No evidence of slab formation in this area by 4 PM (although not much had accumulated); the snow that had accumulated was fairly light in density.
