Wind Loading on Tamarack Peak

I toured up the East Ridge of Tamarack Peak today to take a look at wind loading throughout the storm cycle. Since yesterday, I had noticed that approximately 20-30 cm of new, light density snow had fallen. This new snow sat atop a denser storm slab, which was relatively supportive while skinning. I did not notice any settling or whoomphing. Below ridges, this new snow had not been moved a lot by wind, and winds throughout the tour were relatively calm. Only above Proletariat Face and on the summit of Tamarack Peak did I notice a light breeze out of the northeast.

Once on the ridge, wind transport throughout the storm was rather clear. In the first picture you can see that on the leeward side, there are still rocks and small scrub poking through the snow cover, indicating that most of the new snow has been scoured from exposed SW exposures. New cornices were formed along the northeastern side of the ridge. I kicked at one cornice twice, and the resulting crack can be seen in the second image. The crack extended ~3 meters onto the slope below the ridge, both at my tip and tail. Based upon some hasty probing with my pole, the cracks appeared to be at least one meter deep. In other, less exposed locations I attempted to kick at some wind lips, but was not able to get any appreciable quantities of snow to move.
