New, low density snow on S. Tamarack

Did an early lap on the south side of Tamarack Peak this morning to see how much snow had fallen between Monday morning and this morning. (On Monday morning in the same area, had found 1-2 ft of new snow, with ski penetration depth ~11 inches). Old snowmobile tracks from yesterday (or maybe earlier) in open areas near the meadows by the road had partially/mostly filled in. Skinning in untracked areas was unexpectly deep, with ski penetration depth (i.e. depth of our skin track) ranging from ~12-23 inches. On the way up, we took a depth measurement in a small clearing at 9600 ft (seemingly previously untracked) (see pin drop on map): the depth of the new snow above the old MF crust was 42 inches (total snow depth 81 inches). The newest snow was very low density, with stellars on the surface. Seemed like it had been quite calm/protected on this side of Tamarack, as we observed no signs of wind slab formation until the very top of Tamarack and the trees were heavily loaded with the new snow. Looking off in to Hourglass Bowl, the snow surface looked more wind-affected.
