Windy conditions on Relay Ridge

Predictably scoured aspects and conversely wind loaded aspects were prevelant in the Relay Ridge area.  Winds were consistent, strong and bordering on gale force on ridge tops throughout the day.  Our skin track was refilling in less than 30 minutes in numerous places.  Plenty of snow is still available for transport in this area.  Unconsolidated cold snow was present in sheltered terrain but had all been wind affected.  The best conditions were NW aspects where higher density wind affected unconsoildated snow sat above lower density unconsolidated snow.  This resulted in fun but rather unusual pow conditions.  We experienced windslab cracking on ridge tops in extremely wind affected snow but minimal signs of instability as we progressed down slope.  A pit at 9,400' had a HS 166cm and 36cm of storm snow and produced no unstable results.
