Description of Snow, Weather, and Avalanche Conditions:

The avalanche was triggered by a snowboarder jumping a cliff. As the rider landed, the new layer propagated approximately 250 ft wide and 2-3 feet deep down to the hard layer below. The aspect was approximately 45-55 degrees, facing North by Northwest at an elevation of 8200 ft.
