Variable conditions on east shoulder of Mt Rose

Went for a short morning tour on the east shoulder of Mt Rose; found variety of conditions. Very low snow cover (i.e. had been bare ground prior to this last storm) below ~8100 ft on S/SE facing slopes below treeline, with some areas of breakable, hard crust in open clearings (almost looked like rain on snow (?), see photo 1). Variable wind affect and cross-loading on open E-facing slopes (i.e. above ~8200 ft) in this area, with some areas scoured down to the pre-storm surface, other areas with soft surface snow, and other areas with heavy windslab up to 1 foot thick that exhibited cohesive slab properties (although we did not find any propogation of cracking in this layer; see photo 2). N and NE-facing slopes in treed areas above 8600 ft in this area still held good, light snow from this last storm; we did find occasional snow snakes/sharks barely covered in places in these areas.
